Information Data vs. Information
Data
Data is a set of facts which describes a particular thing in the real world. It may represent a single value or multiple values
Information is a collection of organized facts. They have more value than the facts themselves. Simply Information is processed data that is meaningful or useful to someone
Data can be defined as raw facts and information is processed data. What we know is information and data is represented information. For an example if we consider about how many fingers in a one hand. We can represent it in many ways. Such as 5, V or IIIII.. We can see that the information has not changed but data has.
An important consequence of this distinction is that information has meaning, while data does not. Computer works with Data (representations) not with information (Meaning). After processing of data, the outcome is meaningful information.
