B: Good Morning! Can I help you?
C: Yes. I'd like to open an account.
B: Right, if you'll come and sit down with me over here I'll explain things for you.
C: Thank you
B: Now first we need to know what sort of bank account you want to open.
C: I just want an ordinary account so that I can keep my money safe in the bank and use cheques to pay for shopping and everyday items.
B: What you need is what we call a current account. That gives you a cheque book and a cheque card to guarantee your cheques up to a maximum of £50 each.
C: That seems fine. How do I actually open the account?
B: Well, you'll need to complete one of these forms and you'll have to put some money in the account before you can write your cheques or use your card. Will your salary be paid into your new account from now on?
C: Actually, I'm a student, so I don't have a salary, but I do have some money that I've saved up. What about bank charges and things?
B: Actually, as long as you are a student you won't have to pay any charges at all as long as you keep your account in credit.
C: That sounds great. I'll fill the form in straight away. Many thanks for your help.
B: Not at all. It's a pleasure. I hope we can continue to be of service to you for many years to come.
